Procrastinating

Well, I'm here looking to procrastinate a little from doing the more important activity of studying. Today has not been much of a study day anyway. Filled with chores and such. You know - that living thing. There was no studying yesterday either. See these wayward travelers from Finland are here again assisting us [at work] in commissioning this new tool. They have been here since Tuesday and will leave Tuesday morning. There have been a number of problems for which most have been worked through. We worked all day yesterday. From 8:30 to 7:30. And no lunch break for me. Total disaster I tell you. If you are like me, food MUST happen on a regular basis. There is flexibility on the specific time that that happens, but it must happen several times a day. Oh well - I lived. Very nice people I tell you. I think I may have angered them in doing something earlier than expected yesterday. High probability that it was a communication misunderstanding. Disappointed I am, but oh well. Things worked out.

I'm listing to a radio program that just ended called The Prairie Home Companion on the local Public Radio station. The host was telling a story [unknown if it is true or fictitious] about a couple at an airport in which the husband was preparing to fly to visit the wives sister. An argument broke out regarding whether the husband was really looking forward to seeing her sister. The wife expected a truthful answer on the spot. The announcer inserted the following comment: [regarding relationships] from a mans perspective, seeking the truth is a lifelong quest. How funny - and probably rather truthful.

Well now time for little surprise. I almost didn't think I was going to be able to post this little tid-bit as I was having difficulty in signing in to Photobucket. Anyways, I stayed late to do a favor for a person at work on Thursday. When I showed up Friday morning . . .

How nice of him. First one to have done something like this. I've done many favors of this nature and most seem grateful on the one hand, but on the other hand, seems as if the mental attitude is like "about time" if you know what I mean. Again, a very nice gesture indeed.

Well, time to get back to it. I just finished some popcorn and will now down a half PB-n-J. Should set me up for the rest of the night. And if you are out there Chris, I got your phone message. Sorry I'm a bit reclusive at the moment. On the plus side, only two more weeks of regular classes and then finals. Will have finals on Monday and Friday the week of May 13. Both running from 7:30 - 9:30 . . . A.M. Dear God. Pray for me . . .

Weekend Challenges

Dear God. This again!

That time of the month.
Never ending.
Fuck'en gum. How do you get this shit out. Perhaps Shout will save me. Stuck to my backpack waiting for the shuttle bus at school. Transfer to shirt. Ah Crap!
Suck'en up floor space.
And when it's all over, perhaps a little rest bit. But not before I get some homework done!
The mission starts tomorrow - with - - WORK. On a weekend even. How did I get sucked into this? Turns out me and this other guy have been trying to schedule some work on this analytical equipment. While he has had plenty of time, this week has been a "no-go" for me. Next week ain't look'en any better. So here we go folks.

Wanna Beef ?!

Well I took a lovely walk to the park today to get out a bit and do some R-n-R and homework. Hmmmm, guess what I did more of . . .

Anyways, while at the park, there was a little surprise I didn't expect to see. It started off with a group of Hispanic folks, young and middle aged, who arrived in a truck jumping out sounding tough and spitting out a number of swear words. They all gathered around a covered area in the distance. You can see it to the right in the photo. About five minutes later, here come a few more Hispanic folks. The two groups met in the center of the park. Two teens then went head-to-head. Clashing, throwing punches, went into a submission hold contest, then broke it and threw some more punches. All along, the rest of the group acted as cheerleaders! Hmmm. After it was all over, they called truce, gently butted fist, then talked like, "Lets hang out!" Well, that's what it sounded like anyway. From start to finish, less than five minutes. Other than that, pretty quite at the park.

Saturday was potluck day. I checked out this singles event from a local singles organization that put on a potluck. It was held at the organizers house. Nice event, but all older folks. I'm talk'en upper 40's and above. I showed interest in one gal that looked around 40 and she found her way around the bush so-to-speak. Oh well. Maybe next time. I initially had some hope as the event organizer told me he was glad to see me as he had a number of younger ladies say they were coming. I figure the Fall Crawl pulled them away. (The Fall Crawl is an annual music event downtown.)

Sunday was PBS day! I had it on PBS from about 8:45am to 10:30pm! Minus a short break for the news. Lots of good stuff. The most interesting was this detective show from England. It was called The Inspector Lynley Mysteries. I'm hooked! Count me in next week. It had story plot, reasonably / realistically timed events, and . . . character development. Oh Yeah.

Warm Up

Look at what I woke up to this morning outside my bedroom window. Looks like a Balloon Fiesta warm up if you ask me.

What clued me before it came into view was the unmistakable sound of the blow torch heater that fills the balloon with hot air.

So I did some channel surfing on T.V. while I was in the middle of cooking supper and ran across this talent show on a Spanish channel. Mostly all youth, ranging in age from about 15 to the mid 20's. There posting the age as they perform. I don't understand a word they are saying, but 1) it's about the only thing on T.V., and 2) These Kids can really sing! You can generally tell good from bad singing regardless of know the language or not. The show is "something" TimBriche (they have a special icon with the words, so I might be missing a letter or two).

Well tomorrow starts the school thing again. Ahh the thrill of school. Gotta Love it! I suspect I'll be slacking more on the blog as a result. I know I know - slacker. Oh well. Time to get my pack ready for tomorrow and chill a bit more before I hit the sack.

Mood Blues

Hello folks, how's it going. Fine I hope. Yesterday was a pretty busy day as I spent it with mom and brother. We spent the day hiking some of the Sandia Mountains. We hiked from the overlook parking lot to the tram. From both places, the view is simply spectacular!

Here comes the tram. It's the longest tram in the world.

And what do you know, a bunch of communication antennas are located up here too. I wonder why?

It was a good day, but long. And mom survived the hike! What a trooper! We took frequent breaks as needed, but still, the fact still stands. Go Mom!

Needless to say, it was late night eating supper. We chose a new Chinese restaurant we've never been to just because it was getting so late (around 7:30 or so when we hit town). Really good place. Good review from us all.

I went out a bit eeeeaarly this morning to see if I could see anything of the meteor shower that is going on. Did see some stuff. Not as many as I'd hoped for, but then again, I was still in the city limits. Not that the city lights are going to affect my view . . . or maybe, maybe not? Wait?

Anyways, the mood as mentioned in the title of this post deals with how I've felt all day so far. I enjoyed my time out with the stars, but just can't explain today's mood swing. Here's were it is going. It deals with what things in life make us feel depressed and / or inadequate. When your poor, things like what's for dinner, how am I going to pay next months rent are the things that consume you and your emotional state. As your wealth expands, other things take over as you don't have basic necessities to worry about. Perhaps your educational level, personal relationships, or how you stack up against your co-workers, and then there's feeling inadequate about the shit your own. Well then we move up the wealth scale and what do we have then? Oh yeah! I'm a peon because I don't own a 6000 sq ft home and I can only take two three week vacations to Europe a year.

Well, that's the mood I'm in for some reason. Can't explain it. So I've got to go now. I'm headed back up to moms place to take advantage of free laundry facilities, try to fix some aging living room chairs where the chair spring supports are failing, and then finally get around to doing the gift opening thing with my brother. Super will be home made vegan enchilada's. And of course on the way will be a few consumer based pit stops. Bye bye.

Frdiay Friday Friday

Here we go folks. It's Friday and I for one am happy for that. I've had quite a long week trying to learn this piece of equipment at work. Spending a lot of extra hours in preparation for a training session I gave on Thursday morning. I'm glad that is over with. I muddled my way through it, doing some hand waiving through parts of it. In some way's, it didn't sound like I really knew what I was doing, but I think once this person uses the tool a bit, he'll start waiving his hand too!

So what's up tonight? Not much. Chilling to Kelly Clarkson's new CD My December. I've had now for a few weeks, but have been hooked on it for the last week or so. Time to bring it into iTunes so I jam in the car AND at home. The musical theme is pretty dark. Much different than the brighter songs of her last album. Song number 6, Judas, is dark, but has a dancy rockish beat. How dare her write a somber song, but make you want to dance at the same time - bad Kelly, bad Kelly!

I have 18 day's left to suffer. ONLY 18 day's until I own the movie 300. Mark July 31 on your calenders! Don't delay, do it now. NOW I said!

The only adventure for this weekend will be some hiking in the Sandia Mountains. Not sure if it will be Saturday or Sunday. Waiting for a call from the folks to see what will go down.

I think I'll close this up for now. Do some other stuff and then relax a bit. Have a good one.

Reading Time

Taking a break from other breaks and reading the manual for this piece of equipment I have to train on later this week. Originally, I was going to hang at work and fondle this equipment, but I found someone who "knows" how to use it and has some samples to measure. We've agreed to meet tomorrow morning at 9. Should give me enough time to run in and do a few other things before that. If I can d r a g myself out of bed, I can hopefully be at work before 7:30. Today was a busy day and tomorrow looks to be that way as well. And I don't mind at all. Helps the day go by faster.

My appetite has been up there for some reason today. The only difference today is that I ate some green leaf lettuce and broccoli at lunch and with my late afternoon snack. And in both cases, I got hungry before what has become normal times to get hungry and eat. I'll be grabbing something when I finish up here. I'll continue to eat the greens and see if it affects my appetite the rest of the week in the same fashion. Interesting.

No other real news to speak of so I'll wrap this up short and tidy, grab some food, and get back to reading this instructional manual. Ahhh, great bedtime fair. - Cheers.

Frantic Time

What a frantic day! The plans changed early this morning. I made breakfast and threw the dishes in the sink to soak while I went to get a hair cut, but, before I could make it out the door, mom called wanting to confirm plans for the day. Thus began - change land. Originally, I was going to get the hair cut, then come back home to clean up the kitchen. New plan. Get hair cut, then head to moms to get an early start in the garage before it got hot. I figured if I got to the barber early in the morning, I would not have to wait long and I'd be on my marry way. Apparently, other folks had the same idea. I got to the barbers around 9:45 and left about 11:30. Delay 1: there's a new thrift shop right next to the barbers - let's check it out, shall we. Bought a cook book and several "experimental" CDs. Hit moms house and had lunch. Then hit the garage to start laundry and check out her new set of wheels. Sorry, didn't think at ALL to get a photo of it. It's a Chevy Cobalt though. Onto the garage. Fun stuff folks. As the afternoon rolled on, got the garage sorted out, got laundry done (except for jeans), and managed to amass a chunk of stuff to bring back home with me. Turns out that most of the stuff in the garage is by brothers! My mom said it would probably take the afternoon just to go through my stuff. Not so folks. Anyways, dinner ensued and I made my way back home to plow through another weeks worth of dishes. All today though, I've been having this kind of stressful sense of urgency and time constraints to get things done. I don't know why. I guess just having a lot to do and doing several things simultaneously.

Tomorrows original plan was to hike more in the Petroglyph National Park, but now the family is going for a hiking trip into the forest in Pecos New Mexico since my mom is not singing in her church choir. Will give more details on the hiking trip tomorrow.

Well, it's nearing 10pm and I'd like to chill on the couch a bit before I hit the sack. I've got to be at moms place around 9:30 tomorrow cause it will be about a 2 hour drive to our destination. Nighty Nite.

Downtown Mighty

After a stroll downtown this evening, I think I'm ready for some R & R. I swung by home a bit after work then headed toward the tall buildings downtown. Gave me a chance to walk around and look for some photo opportunities. As you can see, the buildings are pretty tall for around here. Still, nothing like other large cities, but multistory non-the-less. Two things remain this evening before I hit the sack. That would be FOOD - no surprise there, and play around with the javascript stuff a bit. One other thing remains is to get rid of this pesky trojan-win32.mx virus I've managed to pick up. I tried something I found on-line earlier today, but no luck. Have to try harder!

Dinner you ask? Why it's going to be a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

The only other interesting tid-bit is someone again asked me about school this morning. Well I wasn't in a good mood to begin with and that question was bad timing. Add to the fact that the person who asked is leaning toward my shit list as of late. He's not officially on it, but he's not too far away either. So I managed to drag myself through the rest of the day after that. The effects of that question didn't last long as there where other things that played a bigger part in dragging me down. So let's not talk about it too much and just hope that tomorrow is ah better day. OK!

Blankets

And just how many blankets do you have? I'm finally bitting the bullet and changing my bed sheets to cotton. After looking at the stack, I didn't realize I had this many. And this doesn't count the one that goes on the bed or the two I have on the couch.

Learning - Movies - Surfing

How about a mid morning post instead of a late Saturday night post. After all it is 9:19am. Doesn't that qualify as a mid morning post? Hmmmm. I suppose that depends largely on what time zone your body clock runs on. Anyways, did I mention it was already 9:22am in the morning?! Got to get some laundry going pretty soon.

In any event, I uploaded last nights Random Photography picture around 10:30pm. Getting kind of late for me, but still not too bad for a weekend. For some reason, I wasn't in the mood to post anything other than giving you all a new photo to lull over. I'm curious how long I'll be able to keep up with this photo thing. I've been uploading a new photo to the blog every day now for the last 21 day's. I'll have to say that I've gotten into the whole photography thing a lot since I got the digital camera. It definitely allows one to take pictures like a pro. You know - carelessly move the camera around while while you hold your finger down on the auto advancing clicker. Then lull for hours over your shots looking for The One. I know my camera has already paid for itself in savings for 35mm film and development. We'll have to see how long I can hold out before I buy a newer, fancier camera, since the thought has crossed my mind on several occasions.

So, where did my day go yesterday? I left home around 7:40am and returned around 10:20pm. I started the day by taking a class on Javascript programming. Since I started this blog, I've become interested in learning how to manipulate it. I know that Java only represents an itsy bitsy tini winni part of the who web programming picture, but every little bit adds up. It was a coworker who signed up for the class that clued me into it so I decided to go for it. This is a two day class with day two happening next Saturday.

After the class, my friend asked if I had anything planned for the night and with a resounding answer of NO, headed over to another friend/coworkers house for a Boston Chicken dinner and movies on their BIG screen television. The first movie was Pulse. Very similar to The Ring. In this horror flick taking place at a college, two smart guys designing communication devices find new frequency bandwidths they never knew existed. Unfortunately (yes there is always a down side in movie land), this also happens to be a port hole through which some not so friendly beings can cross into our world and suck the life out of us. As is the usual case, our hero is this Hot. Fine. Little college female. I'll stop here. After all, I wouldn't want to give away an ending you've seen coming already, now would I. OK, the second movie was Mom and Dad Save the World. A comedy space flick in which "mom and dad" are headed out for a vacation and are taken by the leader of another planet that wants to make the wife his wife just before he destroys planet earth with his powerful weapon. You know where this is going. Good Fun.

After getting back home, I thought I was going to post a new photo and hit the couch, but instead I got to surfing some pointless stuff that just happened to be pleasing to the eyes. Hmmmm!

Well that's it for now. Time to get that laundry ready and get the rest of the morning going. My mom got a new car Friday, so I'm sure she is wanting to show it off. Will probably check it out today. See ya!

Friday NIght

It's a new post. On a Friday night! Yeah, yeah, yeah, put a sock in it Mighty. I hear ya, I hear ya. So looks like you got blessed with a rope tonight. The rope is something I got some eons ago for exercise purposes. Trust me, it never saw any such activity. I think it has seem a dark space most of the time. Take that back . . . all of the time. Good thing I had it or else you might have had to put up with another photo of the sky! Oh NO, not again! Well your not out of the woods yet cause there's more sky to come. Brace yourself!

Maybe News

Hello folks. How'z it go'en? Good I hope. So today was a good day at work. Yet again, stuff to do seemed to fall out of the sky. Which is good seeing how this morning, I was wondering what the hell I was going to do today. I like it that way. Now what I'm I going to do tomorrow? Fuck if I know. I guess I'll find out when I walk in the front door.

News Flash !!! Sprint to Office Max. They got 2GB Verbatim jump drives on sale for 20 bucks. Scored one at lunch today. I know, I know. Next week 4GB's will probably be on sale for 10 bucks. Oh well :(

So I hunted down the medical benefits hand book tonight. I also threw out a bunch of crap as well! I pulled down the box that has my important papers and started rummaging through it. Why the hell do I still have this? Old car insurance papers and medical benefit info. Let me tell ya, the box was a whole lot lighter when I put it away. Time for a recycle run. OK, back to the subject - medical benefits hand book. I searched through for info on patient payment responsibility and sure enough, the $600 I owe is just about the right amount based on the pay plan. My plan caps out at $1500 / yr, so everything over that is covered. So . . . I'm really happy to owe $600 relatively speaking.

Welp, that's about all the news that might be news that could be considered news. Ha. See ya.

Photo shoot - kind of

It's Saturday night and I'm chilling out with the music of Joan Armatrading's "What's Inside" CD. Loading it into the iTunes player. Adding it to my own brand of listing pleasure. While at it, enjoying the great taste of Hornsby's Hard Apple Cider. And not just any cider I tell you; it's Amber Draft. I can't hardly stand wheat based beers, but hard apple cider gets my vote of approval. And since I'm such a lightweight, I can already feel the buzz AFTER ONLY one of these guy's. And at the moment, the other thing I feel is a need to relieve myself! So if you will excuse me for a moment . . .

Oh that's much better. Thank you.

OK! So what else is new? Well, not much. The day has been pretty slow and relaxing. Spent the afternoon with my mom and brother. If your thinking that it seems as if I hang out with my mom and brother almost every weekend, your absolutely right. And for that matter, if my mom had her way, I'd be moving back into her home in Rio Rancho, NM. And as most of you will attest, after having a brush with freedom after leaving the nest, there is NO turning back; even though I love my mom dearly.

Before that though, was a run to Hobby Lobby this morning to hit on a female employee there. I'd been making several trips to the store over the last week or so in an effort to make a move on her. YES! She was there today at the cash register. I lined up with my goods in her line (hey, who cares how long the line is) and proceeded to wait. Unfortunately, the ladies in front of me where buying out the store. It's like standing in line at the grocery store. Everyone around you has 10 items or less EXCEPT for the person who is stocking up for the month. What luck! I ended up getting called to another line. Awe Shit! Well after dumping my stuff in the car, I made a u-turn and got lucky enough to find her just finishing up with the last customer in her line. Now's my chance. Unfortunately, she indicated that she falls under the looks much older than she is category. I place her in her mid to upper 20's. She says . . . 18. Ouch. Oh yeah, I see it now, "I'm your father, let's go out for a date." I don't think so.

So aside from that, the only other bit of excitement was an incident hanging with the folks at the park today. As Mighty is getting into this random photography thing, I find myself constantly searching for a photo shoot opportunity. Well there was one that looked promising at the park. A setup of tables for some party or something. I proceeded to take a few broad view pictures of the event. Later while hanging out at camp, one person from the group came over and asked with a stern voice what I was doing taking the pictures. I told him I was just interested in his party setup and that was it. He asked again if that was my only desire. Why yes. He then says something to the affect don't be messing with the girls. No more pictures. "Okay. Understood." He then returns to his camp. Unknown lesson for me - ask before taking pictures of other people. I can see were he is coming from now that I think about it. Lesson learned and I'm glad that this lesson only resulted in a mildly unpleasant verbal confrontation.

Other than that, shopped at a few stores and made dinner here at home with mom and brother. So here we are blogging after a bit of a talk with K. It's now 10:50 and I think it's time to get this post formatted and posted. Chill out where ever you are. It's all Good. Cheers.

It's Pride week in Albuquerque !!!!!

I don't mind the folks, mind you. Just don't make a move on me! GOT IT.

How a month goes by.

Well it's been a month since I had my hyperparathyroid surgery. It seems like it's been a lot longer. The final bit of tenderness around the incision is healing just fine. Not to gross anyone out or anything, but I thought I would show a couple of photo's. The first is the day of the surgery, May 2nd, and the second is today.





The doctors say that if I massage it for 30 minutes daily and keep the sunblock on it over the summer, it should be barely visible by the Fall. I'm looking forward to that. Other than that, just keeping up with the blood pressure meds and taking calcium supplements. Doctor says that on average, the bones rebuild themselves the most in the first six months after this type of surgery. What I'm referring to is the increase in bone density due to calcium absorption.

Well, the only other thing on my mind now is this pesky message from Qwest (my new landline phone carrier) when you call someone and the line is busy. Long gone are the short toned pulses that are the hallmark of the line is tied up. Now a friendly female voice answers The line is busy. For an additional 75 cents, Qwest can continue to try the line and call you when it is available. I think my fingers work just fine thank you very much.

Looks like it's about time for a late night bite. So I think I'll tidy up this post and get the jaws exercising. Cheers.

Petroglyphs

Well it's Sunday night. My mom and brother just left about 30 minutes ago. We had a good day out. Went to the Petroglyph National Monument here in Albuquerque, NM. We spent about 1.5 hours doing one trail in the afternoon and decided we should come back another time - maybe in the Fall! Perhaps we'll do it again in the summer, but it will certainly have to be in the morning. Here are a couple of pictures to whet your interest.





Although the park ranger said the trail we chose would have close to 600 Petroglyphs to view, we came up a little shy of that number. We didn't do the whole trail and also didn't spend too much time in any one given spot. I felt like heading back to the visitors center and telling Ranger that 25 could be viewed with the naked eye. We would need binoculars to see the other 575. And for that matter, we wondered how many rock carvings are only visible from the top of any given rock and not from the trail. I'm sure we'll try the Rinconada Canyon Trail again.

After that, we paid a visit to an Asian food market, ate Vietnamese food, then made pit stops at Wally World and K-mart. All in all, a pretty good afternoon. Got to get outside and hang out with mom and my bro.

As a side note, even I'll have to say that I'm amazed at the random photo I've posted. A little bit of luck I would say. The right side image is looking into an empty home up for sale, the left side of the image is the reflection off the window of the front yard area. LUCK I tell ya.

My fortune and satisfaction

Cleaning up the mess that is my computer desk / entertainment center, I've ran across an old fortune cookie slogan from eating out. Ponder this:

I also found this post card from some company I ordered stuff from at work (don't ask why I have it at home). It's a survey card. "Our Goal Is Your Satisfaction" and "How Do We Measure Up?" I wonder how many of these are never returned. I guess "no news is good news" eh. I think I'll join the crowd.

An extra day off

Hey folks, it's Tuesday and I'm at home taking the day off. Ohh YEAH!! I've never been one to take a Monday or Tuesday off around a three day holiday, but this time I decided to go for it. So I'm joining a portion of the American population that is making this a four day weekend. Although a day off means doing what ever when ever, easy come easy go type of attitude, I'm already feeling like the day is speeding right ahead. It's already 9:50! I originally woke up at 6 (must be habit), rolled over for another 30 minutes or so, then stared at four walls until around 7:30. OK, that's it! Let's start moving around. I spent a little while looking over a cookbook troving for something different to make for lunch, then had a crappy breakfast; that being cereal and a poptart. I didn't feel too bad because the hot sandwich I plan on making for lunch will have eggs and (can it be) BREAD. Ahhh, staple food. I've been spending a little time getting photo's downloaded from the digital camera and selecting photo's for this post. I've got to get a system down to make it quicker I tell you. I think I've got a file naming system down that will keep files in order but also let me reference dates as well. I suppose I'm a little slow right now because I'm new to all this photo stuff. After several more times, I might have it down to a science. We'll see. For the rest of the day, I've got bills to pay and a trip to the grocery store before lunch. Afterwards, I'm planning a trip to a fabric or hobby store to get fabric for a cover for the entertainment stand. I'd like to try making things look more simplified when I'm not goofing off on the computer. Ya know, that whole feng shui thing. Again, we'll see. Unknown what's for dinner. I'd like to cook something, but not sure what yet.

So yesterday turned out to be a rather uneventful day. The only real excitement was checking out the Albuquerque Wine Festival at the Albuquerque Balloon Park. I'd never heard of it until this year, but apparently, this three day event takes place every Memorial Day weekend. News to me. The only wine festival I've known of has been the one that takes place in Bernalillo in the Fall. See, I learned something new this year. Now if I can only learn what 2 + 2 equals.

Well as this post gets longer by the second, I'd like to close with a rant on this whole holiday thing. In particular, on how every holiday seems to be a major event for the retail industry to sell us shit. Sales seem to be everywhere. I'll admit that I haven't heard as much in the way of T.V. and radio ads, but trust me there out there. The one that is sticking in my mind is a radio ad for a car dealer. Goes something like this, In order to gauge the economic strength of this area, [car dealer] is holding a four day market test . . . You get the idea. One other rant, why has every holiday become a means to party. Even this Memorial Day holiday is suppose to be somber moment to reflect on what this nation is all about, pay honor to those who have fallen for our freedom, and to question if what were assigning our troops to do around the world really achieves our nations goals. Instead, our public parks are full, and there is plenty of food left overs from the barbecue to last a while.

Anyways, the music I've got going is lulling me right now. Time to shift gears with the music and the mood. Cheers all.

Another year on planet Earth

Yup, it's another year on planet Earth. I turn 37 years old today (well really around 11:47 pm tonight, but who's counting the minutes). Things are going great. Again, my post surgery is healing well, work is going OK, I had a great time with K. last night, and again, I has a great time with K. last night! We went out clubbing around downtown and checked out the Hypefestival event. This was day two. Heard some really good bands. "Say again" was a popular phrase last night. I wonder why. Anyways, this was part of K.'s taking me out to celebrate my birthday. I even got a WOW gift - a dvd recorder with VHS deck on one unit. Holly molly, now I can get rid of the flaky recorder at home and upgrade all my VHS stuff to DVD. Now how much are those recordable disk?

So I'm chill'en waiting for K. to wake up so we can grab some chow. She's got a business meeting and dinner later today, so I hope we don't eat breakfast too late to interfere with her hunger later. But judging by how late we where out and up last night, it might be a while yet.

We saw some cool stuff last night. One of which was this artist (one of the band members) who was painting people with unusual symbols and markings. K. even got branded. How cool is that. Then at another bar, there was this woman dressed in black playing around with this "lighted" hula-hoop. Picture this, dark setting, hopp'en rock music, and this dancing chic with a lighted hula-hoop. VERY COOL! We even saw this (shall we say larger) guy dancing on the floor. Funny stuff.

Now I've got another celebration to do with my folks. Will probably do that on Sunday. I'm thinking about taking a drive to Santa Fe this weekend. Should be nice for a family visit and a chance to see some open road. The drive is about an hour or so, depending on the wind - lol.

All in all, here's the deal - I'm having a great time. I'm 37 years old now. We'll see what comes up around the bend. Southern style. Y'all hear me now? Cheers!
