Snow Anyone?

We got this snow from no where last night. I awoke to my radio alarm to hear news of all these schools on a two hour delay. Sure enough, a look out the window revealed about 3 inches of snow. The TV news said there had been a number of auto accidents.

The snow is gone now. As usual for around here. Yesterday was partly cloudy with pretty high winds typical of the fall months - although it's a bit early. Today was calm, total blue sky, total sun. Cold for me but nice. Oh wait, what am I saying! Just about anything below 70F is cold for me.

No Go !

Well crap. After measuring his hatchback and taking the drive down there, we couldn't get the painting in his car. Will have to try something else.

Howdy

I bought a Snickers candy bar from a vending machine last week which had the following surprise definition inside:

Nougatocity (noun) - A heightened yet fleeting state of accomplishment that makes you realize how unbelievably unmotivated you normally are.

I went to another desperation Singles event last night and met some guy who's career is being an extra in local movies. He had some different name for the job which I cannot not remember. Say's the term extra is a bit unrepresentative of the type of work. Anyways, I found out from him the wrecked cars of the scene I found a few weeks ago at Civic Plaza (post here) was for a movie called Game. Some sort of twisted sci-fi flick.

This afternoon on tap is picking up a painting from a frame shop. I'm getting my neighbor help me pick it up in his car. I can fit the painting in my car without the frame. With frame - it's a no go. I'll post a photo of it at some point.

Two Day's

The semester has started! Now two day's into the semester, I must ask, "How much longer does the semester like?" It should be interesting as I'm taking two classes, Electromagnetics, and Microprocessors. I've actually been putting off taking the microprocessors class, so I'm actually looking forward to taking it. As far as the other class goes, blahhhh. Oh well, it's a necessity.

Otherwise, nothen much new here. Going to do some homework and then hit the sack.

Nighty night.

Desperate

Desperate for Love -
Over the Rhine

Are you feelin’ a little desperate
Get on your knees and confess it
Honey, please don’t second guess it
You’re desperate for love

Is this just a little fling
Or is it about a little bling bling
Either way, you feel the sting sting
You’re desperate for love

It might only take a kiss
For the plot to take a twist
That you hadn’t counted on
Just a tiny little minute
But eternity will be in it
If you turn me on

Red wine on my lips
Got this black silk slip on my hips
The kitchen faucet just drips and drips
You’re desperate for love

Movie Anyone?

Well I was out Saturday afternoon at Civic Plaza just relaxing and I noticed something down the street. Turns out the street was blocked off and there were a number of strategically placed wrecked cars.

Looked like a movie set if you asked me. Then I noticed a big truck cleaning up the messes on the street. Now it really looked like a movie set. Looks like I was a little late to catch the action. The flags were also at half mass. Don't know if this was state wide or perhaps setup for the movie set.
Other than that, not much else going on. I spent a good part of Sunday in the kitchen making some new stuff. One was Orange Marmalade. Another item was Mushroom Catchup. Orange Marmalade turned out well. Mushroom catchup on the other hand . . . needs some work. Later I cooked a Spanish dish - improvised. Turned out pretty good.

Now on the same note, I found my packet of deli chicken on the counter when I got home tonight. I must have left it out this morning when I was getting lunch setup. Well it still smells and sort of taste OK, but it seems to have a bit of an aftertaste. So much for chicken!

Another Day

Tuesday night already. This can't be so. On the stove is some brown rice and thin spaghetti. Good ol standby's. Well I had to deal with a past co-worker this morning who I simply do not like. There has been a vacuum problem with a piece of equipment that we just have not been able to resolve. We do have a device called a helium leak detector used to find such small vacuum leaks. Actually, we have two of them. The one that I'm most familiar with has been broken for some time and I just can't seem to fix the damn thing. The other one I'm not as familiar with and I don't think it works that well. Anyway, I used it on this particular problem and had no luck resolving the issue. So we called this past employee in to have his hand at finding the leak (he runs his own company) and I'll tell you with in 20 minutes after getting setup with his own equipment, he found the damn leak. I'll give him huge credit for finding it and now we can move past that problem. On the flip side, it really angers me when I've done something with no success and someone else rolls around to do the same thing and is successful. If I ponder deeply, I think that I'm more angered with this person because of how much I dislike him and if I think deep down, my distaste for seeing him succeed is just a function of this dislike. I should just chill! Forgive and forget - right. Well that's tough seeing how I tried that once when he was still working where I'm at. I thought, "let me just put the past behind me and start over with this guy." And he threw it in my face. I should just CHILL. Learn from him. Learn him. Know him. Be him. Is there a psychiatrist in the house? Shrink PLEASE.

Bored

OK I'm bored with the game. I think it's time to dip into the personal movie stash. How about Driven with Sylvester Stallone.

Hello

Well, I'm feeling much better today. I've managed to do a few "low impact" activities today and the eating has went pretty well. I've still managed a number of naps and managed a trip outside for some fresh air. Hurray for naps!

So how about those Christmas gifts I made for my family. Here was the gift for my brother;
Now it's all in fun, so you folks just settle down now. Here's the gift for my mom.
This was upholstery fabric wrapped around a foam board and mounted in the frame. I've learned my lesson when buying frames. Always go to a dedicated frame shop. The major discount stores and even most arts and crafts stores are just a waste of time.

So I'm flipping channels and I see there's a football game on. NO!! On New Year's Day? Not EVEN! It's the Sugar Bowl and what makes this look interesting is that it's Georgia against Hawaii. Hawaii is what makes this look interesting. I used to live in Hawaii. I think I'll start this evening by watching this game, at least until I get bored. After all, I DID fall asleep during the historic NFL game Saturday between New England and NY. But wait, was that induced by boredom or sickness? Hmmmm.
