I hear, They hear!

OK, so I've just got to comment on a story this morning on NPR news. It was about some lawsuit against the government saying they are breaking the law by eve dropping on phone lines and now they want some anonymity regarding tapping into emails and web based phone services. All this due to national security.

Well, some folks are very against that.

Here's my two cents - what if you lost someone close and dear due to some radical asshole? Who cares where this asshole came from! al-Qaida, some religious sect, who knows? YOU are going to ask yourself what the government is doing and why they did not foresee this prick coming your way.

THIS is what the government is doing. To think that your individual daily events, while important at your level, could surpass the mundane as seen among the masses is unthinkable.

Think about it.

Good Day!

Oh yes, today was a better day than yesterday. The morning started on a note a bit better than yesterday and improved as the day went on. I'm feeling pretty good as of now and actually have a couple of missions at work to look forward to.

And as an added bonus, check out what I received at the end of the day! A research student just returned from a month long trip to his home country of Egypt an returned with this as a gift to me. HOW COOL !!! Click on it for a larger image. It's made of traditional papyrus paper. An enclosed paper reads (in Arabic, English, and French):

We guarantee that papyrus planted and made in our factory farm is an Egyptian craft it has the same chemical and physical qualities that our ancient Egyptian papyrus had. It has the same fibers. The dark legenic sells the horizontal and vertical lines, its ability to be rolled in addition to long life. Colour, coat, and use the typewriter.

How Cool! This will be on the wall pretty darn quick. Otherwise at this point I'm going to voice an opinion to the following headline I read earlier just before leaving work: Rosie wants "Price is Right" job. Oh C O M E O N !! I say no, No, Not NO, FUCK NO. It's class and character that has been keeping that show running all these years. Stick with the recipe folks. There! Mighty has spoken.

OK, time to sit back for a short bit, then start playing with Javasript stuff. I didn't get around to it last night, but I do believe I got rid of the damn virus. Hope so anyways. I' return a little later with another COOL Random Photography picture, so hang tight. Okay?!

DSL up and Running

Mark your calender!!! Mighty's on the high speed freeway truck en right along. Problems officially resolved at 7:52 pm Mountain Standard Time. 9:52 Eastern Standard Time. 7:52 am in some unknown location on the other side of the planet. Y'all get my drift? I can already tell a difference. Blogger loaded a whole lot quicker. And, I can actually see the damn cursor now in this editing window. Will make editing much easier.

OK. Now what! Well how about pondering this - I got a letter in the mail the other day from the electric power company asking me to support clean energy by joining PNM's Sky Blue program. Now, the way this works is you can chose to pay an extra $1.80 per 100 kilowatt hours of power you use or chose to utilize 90% of your monthly energy usage via clean energy (so your monthly bill will vary). Now, consider this, when do most residents use electricity the most in their homes? Your right, early morning and evening / night. How does this average power usage compare with the average power usage by business during the day? Apples and oranges my friends. As a matter of fact, the power company has to burn the excess energy it receives through dummy loads.

So they want us to pay higher energy rates for power they are throwing away? I don't think so. It's a step forward, but this needs greater emphasis during the day.
